Waunakee Community Band Concert

Join the Waunakee Community Band for their 30th anniversary celebration at their final concert of the summer season. You'll hear a new composition written especially for the band’s 30th and we will also play the pieces written for the 25th and 20th anniversaries. The three composers will be in attendance for this special occasion. Sam Robinson will join Jan Tweed as guest conductor. 

This is also the annual "Pie and Ice Cream Night". Come and enjoy home-made pie, ice cream, and root beer floats from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM, during intermission, and after the concert.

Come and enjoy the music and refreshments at this final concert of our 30th season of providing music enrichment and enjoyment for our village and other surrounding communities.

Chalk Walk Sidewalk Art

Calling all artists! Join us as we create a mural of sidewalk chalk art along the Village Park Drive. Artists of all ages and abilities (groups and individuals) are encouraged to register for a square along our mural path. A set of pastel chalks will be provided for each square. Pre-registration is required. Not an artist? Come down to the park at 5:30 PM to walk the path and view the artist's creations before you take part in the color walk and movie night.

Chalk Walk 2015

Walk begins at 6:00 PM

Maybe you have heard of Color Run...but how about participating in a Chalk Walk! This one-mile walk will be the most colorful and fun event you have ever been a part of. As you walk the Village Park route, you will get showered in powdered dye...turning you into a Technicolor canvas of fun!

Just when you thought you couldn't possibly be more colorful, you'll cross the finish line and find yourself in the middle of a color storm at our race-ending celebration including music and fun. Registration fee is $13.00 and includes a walk t-shirt to show off all of the color and individual powder packs for the finale. This race sold out last year so don't delay, register today!

Attention parents of newly-licensed drivers: Ford Driving Skills for Life is a FREE program developed in 2003 in conjunction with the Governors Highway Safety Association and a panel of safety experts to address the leading causes of vehicle crash deaths among teenagers in the United States.

Teens will drive specially-equipped vehicles on road courses under the supervision of professional instructors, improving their skills in these key areas: Vehicle Recognition, Space Management, Reaction Time, Braking and Stopping Distances, and how to Avoid the Dangers of Distracted and Impaired Driving.

Registration is limited and signed consent forms are required.

2015 Neighborhood Listening Session

Please join the Village of Waunakee and the Waunakee-Westport Lion’s Club for a Neighborhood Listening Session at Rex’s Innkeeper on Wednesday, July 15 at 7:00 PM.

The purpose of this listening session is to give Village residents the opportunity to meet informally and in a comfortable environment with our Village President, Chris Zellner, and our Village Administrator, Todd Schmidt, to discuss issues and ask questions.  Points of discussion can include Waunakee’s growth, improvements, conditions of the neighborhood, traffic, public safety, and any other topics that come to mind.

We are eager to listen to your input and we hope to see you at this event!

Waunakee Emergency Services Citizens Academy

Waunakee Police, Fire, and EMS are pleased to announce the 2015 Waunakee Emergency Services Citizen's Academy program starting September 2, 2015. Participants will meet on Wednesday evenings 6:00 PM-8:30 PM for 9 consecutive weeks. The Citizen's Academy is a "hands on" program.

The goal of the program is to give participants a better understanding of Police, Fire, and EMS duties and responsibilities. During simulations, participants will be able to assume the role of the Police Officer, Firefighter, and Emergency Medical Technician. The class is limited to 14 participants. Requirements: You must be at least 18 years of age. Preference will be given to Village of Waunakee residents. Applications Due August 26, 2015. Applications and course schedule may be picked up at the Waunakee Police Department, Waunakee Police Department website, or by contacting Sergeant Adam Kreitzman at 849-4523 or email akreitzman@waunakeepd.org
