Butterflies on Main
The Village of Waunakee’s annual Art on Main program rolls out once again with Butterflies on Main. The sixth iteration of Waunakee’s original public art project aims to build on the past success of projects like Barrels on Parade (2018) and Mutts on Main (2019) in developing the Village’s creative identity.
Presented in collaboration with Endres Mfg. Company and the Waunakee Area Chamber of Commerce, Butterflies on Main invites the community to create and submit artistic proposals. Chosen artists will be assigned a steel butterfly cutout to use as their canvas. Artists will also be provided with a $200 stipend, courtesy of the Waunakee Area Chamber of Commerce and Endres Mfg. Company Foundation. The finished butterflies will be on display mounted to light posts along Main Street from the first week of July until the weekend of Wauktoberfest. After the butterflies are removed from view, they will be auctioned off to the community at Wauktoberfest on Sunday, September 13, 2020. Proceeds will support future community projects through Create Waunakee and the Endres Mfg. Company Foundation.
Those interested in applying must currently live or work in the school district limits of the Village of Waunakee or be a graduate of Waunakee Community High School.
For more details on the project, timeline, and application requirements, visit the Village’s Butterflies on Main webpage or contact Kylie West, Executive Assistant at kwest@waunakee.com or 608-850-2182. http://www.waunakee.com/butterfliesonmain

Friends of the Library Online Art Show
The Friends of the Waunakee Public Library are hosting an online art show featuring artists originally scheduled to show their work in Community Hall at a Pop Up Art Gallery Show and Sale. Although the Friends are planning to reschedule the event, they wanted to showcase the wonderful artists within our community in the meantime. Please enjoy these images from the local artists who will be featured at this upcoming event. All of these artists were chosen for this show because they donated works of art to help raise funds for our new library. They are a talented group and we hope you enjoy this Online Art Show!
