Creative Economy Initiative (CEI)

Earlier this month, the Bolz Center consulting team presented its final recommendations for the Creative Economy Initiative (CEI) to the Village Board. The team’s recommendations included a series of strategies to take the CEI from a “Village Initiative” to a “Community Initiative” in the next three years. You can learn more about their plan by exploring a few of their key deliverables, which are now available on the Village’s Creative Economy webpage: http://www.waunakee-ed.com/creativeeconomytaskforce

We hope that this process has renewed energy for the CEI and encourage new community members to get involved. If you're interested in participating with the next phase of this work, reach out to us!

Keep Leaves and Grass Clippings Close to Home

When our streets and walkways are clear of leaves and grass clippings, local lakes and streams benefit. Leaves and grass contain significant amounts of phosphorus which promotes algae growth in Six Mile Creek and Lake Mendota.

Bicycle safety is also impacted when vegetation is left on the road.

Waunakee's ordinance Section 58-8 prohibits persons from placing leaves or grass clippings onto the pavement or into the gutter of any public streets.

Help keep our waterways clean and our streets and sidewalks safe by placing leaves and grass at the property line or above.
