In-Person Absentee Voting at Village Hall

Wondering when in-person absentee voting will begin for the November election?

A recent court case decision limited the number of days the Village is able to be open for in-person absentee voting. In-person absentee voting at Village Hall (500 W Main Street) will begin on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 and end at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2020. Voting will take place during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.). No appointment is necessary to in-person absentee vote. Please note that due to COVID-19 and Dane County Public Health orders, we will also need to limit the number of people in our building at one time to ensure proper social distancing and safety.

Absentee Ballot Request

This week the Wisconsin Election Commission is mailing out approximately 2.6 million mailings to Wisconsin voters with information regarding registering to vote and obtaining an absentee ballot for the November General Election. This mailing is being sent to registered voters who, as of the end of June, did not have an absentee ballot request on file for the November election. If you receive this mailing and have recently (after June 30, 2020) completed a request for an absentee ballot, no further action is required from you to receive an absentee ballot. The deadline for the Village of Waunakee to receive ballots from the Dane County for the November election is during the week of September 14, 2020. After this week, we will be mailing absentee ballots to all who have an active request on file.

Can’t remember if you requested an absentee ballot for November? There is an easy way to check online! Visit: www.myvote.wi.gov, click “search by name” on the top right of the screen, and enter the information requested. After searching for your name, you will see a page titled “My Voter Information”.
