Public Input Needed Regarding Hwy K Intersection

PUBLIC INPUT SOUGHT ON
CTH M, Oncken Road to STH 113, Dane County
Updated Project Information – Scope Change at County K Intersection

The Dane County Highway and Transportation Department and KL Engineering, Inc. are continuing the design for the improvements to CTH M. This meeting is being held to provide details about a significant change in the Project Scope – a signalized intersection alternative has been recommended for the County K / North Shore Bay Drive intersection.

At previous Public Involvement Meetings, a roundabout was identified as the preferred alternative. Further investigations of the costs and long-term traffic analysis determined that a signalized intersection alternative was a better overall option. North Shore Bay Drive will be the south leg of the County M and County K intersection and will not be a separate intersection. There will also be a need to close a portion of County M for a short period to accommodate the reconstruction of the railroad crossing near the State Highway 113 intersection.

To comply with COVID-19 restrictions, public involvement efforts for the project have been moved online or through virtual platforms. The public is invited to go to the project website, review a presentation and submit comments by email or mail to project staff. Information for the project will be posted by June 10, 2021 on the project website at the link below:
