Please join us for a Neighborhood Listening Session at the Waunakee Neighborhood Connection in the main gathering room, following the Waunakee Neighborhood Connection’s Volunteer Fair. This is the first listening session of 2017. They are held several times throughout the year at different locations throughout the Village.

The purpose of the listening session is to give Village residents the opportunity to meet informally with Todd Schmidt, Village Administrator, and Chris Zellner, Village Board President to discuss issues and ask questions. Topics of discussion can cover a variety of issues including Waunakee’s growth, improvements, conditions of the neighborhood, traffic, public safety issues, or any other Village-related issues.

We are eager to hear from you and your neighbors in this comfortable and informal setting. If you are unable to attend but have something you would like to discuss with us, please contact Administrator Schmidt at 850-5227 or tschmidt@waunakee.com

Waunakee Police Department February 2017 Newsletter

The Waunakee Police Department is is moving their newsletter access to the Village of Waunakee website! The change allows the police department to keep pace with the growing number of community members who wish to receive their monthly newsletter. If you wish to continue receiving the newsletter, you will need to follow the link below which sends you to the "Notify Me" section of the Village website. Once you have reached that page, you simply add your email address and select the email option next to the Waunakee Police Department section. Should you no longer wish to receive the newsletter once you have signed up, there are directions on the same page on how to unsubscribe. While they are in transition over the next few months, they will continue to send out the newsletter from their newsletter@waunakeepd.org email address and provided access through the Village of Waunakee website. Starting in May of 2017 the Waunakee Police Department will only send the newsletter out from the website sign up list. http://www.vil.waunakee.wi.us/list.aspx.

Village of Waunakee: Tourism/Betterment Fund Grant

The Village of Waunakee is now accepting grant applications for the 2017 Tourism and Community Betterment Fund grant program. This program is established by the Village of Waunakee intended to fund Tourism Projects (projects or events that will bring visitors to the Village of Waunakee) or Betterment Projects (projects that will improve the quality of life for the residents of the Village). Initial year projects or new innovative projects may request up to $2,000 in grant funds to support their initiatives. Applicants must use any approved funding to promote tourism and economic activities within the Village of Waunakee. Examples of previously funded events include Girls on the Run, Waunakee Wayfinding Signage, Imagination Celebration and Depot Days.

http://www.vil.waunakee.wi.us/429/Tourism-Grant. To submit your grant application, please fill out the application form and submit any additional material that supports the proposal by March 1, 2017. Submissions may be submitted to Adam Bentley, Assistant Village Administrator, HR Manager at abentley@waunakee.com. Award decisions will be announced the first week of April.

Welcome Desk Staff Employment Opportunity

The Village of Waunakee is seeking candidates for casual employment as a Welcome Desk Staff Member in the Village Center. The successful candidate will work nights and weekends performing general customer service and clerical tasks at our fast-paced and friendly front desk. If you love helping people and want to join our team please apply. Review of applications will begin Monday, February 13, 2017 and will continue until the position is filled. District FFA Volunteers Needed

The Waunakee High School is in desperate need of volunteers for the District FFA Speaking Contest this week. This contest is strictly run on a volunteer basis and the students really enjoy seeing familiar faces during their contests.
