The Village of Waunakee has some exciting changes in store for the future of the Horizons newsletter. The Village newsletter will be moving toward a more appealing, four color printing with the assistance of Hometown News. The first of three 2016 newsletters (April, August, and December) will be produced and mailed to the residents in the same fashion as in the past. The new format will still remain a resource on the Village website as well. Look for your April edition of Horizons to arrive in your mailbox on or before April 2, 2016.

The Village of Waunakee is excited to host a Home Endeavors Network event. This workshop, sponsored in collaboration with SCORE, will focus on internal financial planning and management. Among the issues to be covered are: Setting policies, monitoring financial data, and inexpensive resources and services to assist you.
You'll want to attend this workshop if you are an independent business person or in a lead role for establishing or supervising financial policies and procedures for a business or organization. Presenter, Bill Ferguson is a CPA and lawyer who has been in private practice for over 30 years giving counsel to small business clients for both profit and not for profit businesses. He has also assisted with financial planning in order to maximize efficiency and minimize risk.

Waunakee on 2016 Safest Cities in Wisconsin
It would be difficult to get more all-American than Wisconsin. The Badger State is home to Harley Davidson motorcycles and the Green Bay Packers, plus it produces 25 percent of the nation's cheese. Whether you want to hit the open road on a chopper or sit back and root for the home team with a cheesy plate of nachos, you can do so without worry in any of these safe Wisconsin cities.Waunakee was chosen #17 on the list of Safest Cities in Wisconsin for 2016. Of the 20 cities listed, only four are 10K population or greater. So Waunakee can claim that, according to the study, it is the third safest place with populations of 10K+.

A Concert for a Cause

The Midwest Performing Arts Youth Performance Groups are hosting a Silent Auction and a Dance Concert at the Waunakee High School Performing Arts Center. The goal of this event is for our young dancers to present the community with a beautiful dance concert, while also getting involved and supporting a good cause. All proceeds from this event will help raise funds for Alysha Herpel in her recovery from Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
Tickets for the event are on sale for $10 at the Midwest Performing Arts located at 604 E. Main Street in Waunakee during regular business hours. Tickets will also be available at the door one hour prior to the performance.
