On August 20, 2018, the Village Board created the Waunakee Housing Task Force. The Village Board created this Task Force to gain a full understanding of the existing housing inventory in Waunakee, identify areas of realistic housing need in which the Waunakee housing marketplace ought provide supply, and craft potential policy modifications for consideration by the Plan Commission to address the identified needs.
The Task Force will be comprised of only Village residents in which both Village-wide geographic (all Village wards) and demographic (age, gender, race) representation should be achieved. Members of the Task Force would be expected to attend 9+/- meetings over a period of roughly 9 months. Each meeting will be held at the Village Center, will start at 5:30 PM, and last 90-120 minutes. All meetings will be on Thursday evenings, with the first to be held on September 20, 2018. Subsequent meetings will be held on the 2nd Thursday of each month beginning in October, 2018, and likely running until May, 2019. Childcare will be provided at modest cost to task force members to accommodate meeting attendance.
