Mutts on Main

The Village of Waunakee’s annual Art on Main program rolls out once again with Mutts on Main. The fifth iteration of Waunakee’s original public art project aims to build on the past success of projects like Trains on Main (2017) and Barrels on Parade (2018) in developing the Village’s creative identity.

Presented in collaboration with Endres Mfg. Company and the Waunakee Area Chamber of Commerce, Mutts on Main invites the community to ‘bark up the right tree’ and submit artistic proposals. Artists will be assigned a mutt (German Pointer, Dachshund, or German Shepard) with a steel base to use as their canvas. Artists will also be provided with a $300 stipend, courtesy of the Waunakee Area Chamber of Commerce and Endres Mfg. Company Foundation.

The finished mutts will be on view at various businesses around the community from Monday, August 12 to Friday, September 13, 2019. After the mutts are removed from view, they will be auctioned off to the community at Wauktoberfest on Sunday, September 15, 2019. Proceeds will support future community projects through Create Waunakee and the Endres Mfg. Company Foundation.

Those interested in applying must currently live or work in the school district limits of the Village of Waunakee or be a graduate of Waunakee Community High School.
